Environmental Art is a way of using our already beautiful natural world to create unique art. Through exercises in the outdoors students find ways to assemble, stack, mix, gather and otherwise create sculptures to catch your eye. This blog is meant for reflection and inspiration!
The class has been patiently waiting fo rsnow and managing to work with the frozen materials that surround campus. For those of you oit there who ask Is it art? We challenge you to try it- it is much tougher than you think! Great work, class! Mr. Buck
I have found it very challenging to find materials without snow available, however it has challenged me to look further and "read between the lines." Once i found a creative material to work with, it makes everything worth it. I have also learned that the smallest projects are the ones that take the longest, but worth it because to me they look the prettiest.
I have found more ideas come to me with out the use of snow using rock with lines seems to be a alright deal I find using them is good for building art and what ever else you chose to do but just going out and making something helps me with my ideas to make better and more time projects
I really enjoyed working with the snow. Me and John served a bunch of purposes today and created multiple paths around the circle in front of the dinning hall. JA
Wow, this snow makes wonderful art. The experience with it is incomparable to anything I've ever experienced. It brings Tranquility and warmth to my heart. Aaron.
The snow today was superb. There something about the first snowfall of winter that makes me feel like a small infant. I can't wait to get back out there and create a masterpiece. :)
I really enjoyed todays class. However, i always find it challenging to find new ideas and materials, especially when all the materials are covered in snow! Looking forward to the next assignment
Some of the ideas here were so creative! I am excited for the next class so I can use the snow even more than last time. Hopefully it wont be snowing so all of the work won't get covered up! I have some new ideas now! -Eliza
